weasly is our king

doing a bit of non-work this afternoon, i ran across a few interesting potter sites regarding a theory out there named "Knight2King"

essentially, this guy claims that Ron is actually Dumbledore, sent back in time, grown older. it sounds quite outrageous, but the evidence gathered is interesting.

what is more interesting, however, is the analogy of the chessboard in the first book (more). the two chess games symbolizing the two wars against Voldemort.

there are, of course, some arguments and rebuttals (and more) and it's a bit far-fetched, but so is the idea of a whomping willow.

You HAVE to tell Alec this! Awesome!

but you know..I don't think it works. Didn't Dumbledore tell Hermione NOT to let herself spot herself time travelling? So how could Ron see Dumbledore without problems? Would he recognize his older self?

im not saying its totally legit, its just interesting. im just impressed when someone takes the time to study these books so much as to refer to them as "canon"
while the ron/dd idea is likely bunk, i do think the chessboard metaphor/foreshadow has potential.
prediction: ron sacrifices himself for harry to make the checkmate (not necc dies, but leaves forever) in the last book.

except that I have seen lots of forshadowing that Ron and Hermione are going to wed. No, I think rather that Harry is a Frodo-like character. He can't ever have a normal life, he has been touched by Voldemort. Harry will die or go off to Some Other Place in the end.

But, yeah, I love the chess thing. I'm actually really liking the theory that Ron and Dumbledore are one and the same. What does Albus mean in latin?

Latin, albus: blank, white.

sure. there's an obvious ron/hermione thing, especially with the Rook/Knight relationship in the chess metaphor, but not necc marriage. maybe just a relationship that ends up getting destroyed by Voldy (among many other things).
